Horizon Awards 8, aka Horizon Awards VIII: Snowdonia, aka Project Phoenix is the eighth consecutive Horizon Awards awards ceremony, and is due to take place over the Winter of 2022 and 2023. With it's event originally scheduled for 11 February 2023, however is being rescheduled due to unexpected circumstances.

History

Announcement and Planning

Horizon Awards 8 was announced late-October to originally be hosted by NYCEmpire with a projected runtime from December 2022 to February 2023, however this would change to be hosted by Edgewurth as a result of NYCEmpire losing all his assets, including his share of Horizon Awards.

Almost-a new host... again

Although it almost became the first Horizon Awards event to not be hosted by Edgewurth, with the last time this would be attempted with Horizon Awards V, NYCEmpire would be due and planned to host Horizon Awards 8 with it completely in his control. He would be banned 26 November 2022 after an investigation into his duping, resulting in Edgewurth having to completely throw his plans out of the window.

Stage Design

The seventh stage would be designed by Thendil, continuing a trend set out by Horizon Awards V to have as many stages done by designers from the community, and would be designed uniquely to other stages, having no specific podium. Previous designers of Horizon Awards stages included RJTrade, and ~Beak.
