Brewing

Brewing is a fun way to enhance your Hellominers experience! HelloMiners uses DieReicheErethons's Brewery Plugin to provide all sorts of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, which can made into a business, or reserved just for personal consumption. Brewing is regulated by the HelloMiners Brewery Department.

What You'll Need:

  • Cauldron: Place above a campfire or lit netherrack.
  • Brewing Stand: Add glowstone dust in the top slot (not consumed).
  • Barrel: Custom-made or with a vanilla barrel.
  • Fire Source: Campfire or lit netherrack.
  • Empty Bottles: To store your brews.
  • Sealing Table: Standardize drinks for sale (details below).

Using the Cauldron

To brew, fill a cauldron with water and add ingredients according to a recipe. For example, to make Strong Coffee:

  1. Add 12 cocoa beans and 2 buckets of milk.
  2. Cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Monitor progress by right-clicking the cauldron with a vanilla clock.
  4. Bottle the brew (3 bottles per cauldron batch).
  5. Check the quality (1 to 5 stars) based on recipe accuracy and timing.

Distilling with a Brewing Stand

Drinks like vodka require distillation after brewing. For Russian Vodka:

  1. Brew with 10 potatoes for 15 minutes.
  2. Bottle the resulting "potato mash."
  3. Place it in a brewing stand with glowstone dust in the top slot to distill.
  4. Distill multiple times if the recipe requires it (e.g., vodka needs three rounds).

Aging Drinks in Barrels

Some drinks, like rum, require aging. To age drinks:

  1. Use a vanilla barrel, or build a custom barrel (different sizes & wood variants)
  2. Add your distilled drink to the barrel (click the sign).
  3. Age for the specified time (1 year = 1 Minecraft day = 20 minutes).
  4. Monitor progress by clicking the barrel to check the aging lore.

Tips:

  • Don't store aged drinks in vanilla barrels, as they continue aging and may spoil. Use chests instead.

Sealing and Selling Drinks

To sell drinks effectively:

  1. Craft a Brew Sealing Table (4 planks in a 2x2 + 2 glass bottles above).
  2. Place drinks into the table to assign them the same item ID.
  3. Verify the item code with /iteminfo, or press F3 + H to turn on advanced tooltips and hover over the drinks in your inventory.

To set up a chest shop:

  1. Place a chest and a sign.
  2. Place the drinks inside the chest.
  3. Format the sign:
    • Leave the first line blank (it will auto-fill your username)
    • Second line: Amount
    • Third line: Price
    • Fourth line: Enter "?" (to auto-detect the item ID of the drinks).
