Beak_boy (lukesbeak) is a HelloMiners Player. He initially joined 24th of February 2016, and has went through multiple periods of activity and inactivity. Inactive during the Magnus-Boot Administration, his current active period has lasted since the middle of 2021. He is noted for his work as a member of the Southern Union for Development and is a co-owner of the city of Yakaze with fellow player oJacy.

Early Activity

Beak initially joined the server in early 2016, and played sporadically for the next five years. Initially working low-level jobs, Beak owned, co-owned and designed a variety of plots in the cities of Paradise Hills, Solaris City, Solis City, and Crystal Bay. In the initial name poll for the city of Crystal Bay, Beak's suggestion, "Shell Bay", won the most votes, but was not chosen as the initials were dentical to that of Swamp City.

Formation of SUD and Yakaze

Beak was one of the original founding members of the Southern Union for Development, and has remained an active member since the group's creation. As a member, while Beak's initial focus was on the creation of highways such as SR1, SR2, and the establishment of a private classification system, focus gradually shifted to the construction of the South Line and the eventual absorption of the Central Line into it to form one loop across the Southern Hemisphere. Beak also served as Lead Railway Technician for the Infrastructure Department for a short period, establishing a cohesive server-wide plan for a future public-private railway system as an evolution of the original SUD map. In July of 2022, Beak resigned from this position after a short tenure and recommended the position for Thendil.

After a relatively inactive 2023, Beak and user oJacy established the city of Yakaze in early 2024. Using a Japanese theme, Yakaze was one of the first cities in HelloMiners to have planned not just public buildings and roads, but also private plots before being built using Litematica. The City hosted Horizon Awards 11 in mid-2024 in the Yakaze State Theatre. As many of Yakaze's buildings also are, the YST was designed and built by Beak personally.
